NV Denny Bini Lambrusco dell'Emilia

Denny Bini is a young master of lambrusco, now working with his own farmed grapes in the self-styled Podere Cipolla ("the onion farm") in the small town of Coviolo just outside Reggio Emilia.

Lambrusco is the specialty of this area of Emilia-Romagna, which also happens to be the historic home of parmiggiano reggiano, proscutto di Parma, and balsamic vinegar of Modena, to name a few. It's a food wine through and through, luscious red grape flavors with enough tannins to hold its own against rich cuisine, yet light and fresh as a feather with a frizzante (or moderately sparkling) finish, all in a chilled, thirst-quenching bottle perfect for hot summer days!

Here Bini uses 4 of the main 6 lambrusco varietals to make up this sumptuous blend, utilizing each varietal's characteristics of fruit and body, acid and tannin. The end result is a bright, fruit forward lambrusco with a bone dry finish.

Drink it at a weekend bbq with a burger, or else with pizza con prosciutto, or a classic tagliatelle alla bolognese.
